Yamaha’s latest series of Clavinova CLP digital pianos takes advantage of the latest innovations in music technology to recreate the experience of performing on a grand piano, allowing for unparalleled possibilities in tone production and variation to create uniquely personal and expressive performances, allowing one's musicianship to flourish with every note and every rest. The CLP-800 Series aims to serve the player an enjoyable user experience. Every nuance from the acoustic modelling engine and its complex interaction with the speakers and/or headphones, to the more compact upright piano-style aesthetic, to the feel of the piano under your fingers and feet aim to make you feel right at home, whether you’re a beginner pianist, lifelong hobbyist, or an industry professional. The Yamaha CLP-825 is sure to touch the heart of every player and listener it crosses paths with.
The Touch
The CLP-825 features Yamaha's slim version of the Grand Touch action mechanism, along with three pedals with their own Grand Touch action. The 3 pedals are Damper/Sustain, Soft and, Sostenuto by default. These pedals also have various different assignable functions. These features are the key to accurately emulating the feel of an acoustic grand piano, as well as making the most of modern technology for higher convenience.
Sound
Starting with speakers, the CLP-825 features a 1-way speaker system, consisting of a set of diffusers optimised for clear Bass frequencies, This diffuser configuration allows the sound to disperse through every direction, replicating the resonating body of an acoustic piano.
This digital piano contains the high quality models of 2 world-renowned grand pianos: the Japanese Yamaha CFX Grand; and the Austrian Bösendorfer Imperial. These pianos, paired with Yamaha’s Virtual Resonance Modelling (VRM) and Grand Expression Modelling, make for an authentic listening experience where all the sounds of an acoustic piano shine through, even the sounds of the mechanical movements of the hammers and dampers (which can be tweaked for the desired response). VRM really shines in how the harmonics of each ‘string’ interact with each other and the pedals to create a more full and direct sound where it would be found on an acoustic, such as when the damper pedal is depressed.
Binaural sampling is available for Yamaha's CFX Grand Piano voice when used with headphones. This was created by sampling pianos with 2 microphones placed where your ears would be, so your ears will hear a faithful recreation of the sounds of a piano in a space, even through headphones.
The piano contains 10 in-built voices, along with several different effects.
Connectivity
The CLP-825 features USB (Type B) to device (Playback/Recording: WAV) as well as AUX in (3.5mm) and AUX out ([L/L+R] [R]) as well as Bluetooth Audio/MIDI.
This piano has a fluent integration with the Yamaha Smart Pianist app for smart devices, providing easy access to every parameter of the piano controls, as well as offering demo songs, and a multitude of piano lessons.
