With wood originating from the Carpathian Mountains, workmanship of some of the finest Romanian luthiers at the Gliga workshops, and a careful eye for the needs of the Australian market, particularly schools, this European-made is a brilliant choice for beginner to intermediate Violist. The Viola comes with a dark oil varnish developed for the Australian climate in mind. German Pirastro Piranito strings are fitted to the instrument along with a Wittner Ultralight tailpiece. The tone woods used are solid spruce for the top, and sycamore maple for the back, neck, and sides, as well as ebony for the pegs, chinrest, endpin, and fingerboard. The outfit comes with an FPS woodshell case and FPS brazilwood horsehair bow.
