The Viola comes with a dark oil varnish developed for the Australian climate in mind. German Pirastro Piranito strings are fitted to the instrument along with a Wittner Ultralight tailpiece. The tone woods used are solid spruce for the top, and sycamore maple for the back, neck, and sides, as well as ebony for the pegs, chinrest, endpin, and fingerboard. The outfit comes with an FPS woodshell case and FPS brazilwood horsehair bow.
